  • The Baluchari sarees are a product of figured silk sarees manufactured in the town of Baluchar in Murshidabad district. These kind of sarees are defined by the pictoral details created with great artistry in the sarees. Quite some times, the borders of Balauchari sarees are embellished with scenes from the epic Ramayana. Just like the nature and myths have played a prominent part in the very creation of sarees, the architectural designs do also have great influence in the sarees. In short, the sarees come in somber colors displaying silk brochade designs both on palla and border.
  • Baluchari sarees is most commonly five yards in length. These kind of sarees have colors that harmonize with one another. You will hardly find any contrasting colors in it. Although the sari is red, you will be surprised to find complex golden work on it, that will essentially give an elegant and royal look.

This saree is embellished with resham, sequins, zari, stone and patch work. Matching blouse is available with this. Slight variation in colour and patch patti is possible.
